Lansdowne House Airport guide

Lansdowne House Airport (ICAO CYLH) serves Neskantaga First Nation, also known as Lansdowne House, a remote community in northern Ontario. The airfield lies about 2.8 km (1.5 nautical miles) southwest of the community and sits at an elevation of 834 ft (254 m). It runs on Eastern Time.

The airport has a single gravel runway, 08/26, 1,062 m (3,484 ft) long. The Government of Ontario operates it. The runway is unmarked, and small turboprop aircraft use it. Gravel strength and condition vary with the season, so pilots check current notices before flying in.

The community has no connection to the main provincial road network. The airport is the main year-round link for passengers, freight and medical travel. Nakina Air Service flies from Lansdowne House to Thunder Bay, Nakina, Fort Hope, Ogoki Post and Webequie, and North Star Air flies to Thunder Bay. Thunder Bay is the main regional hub for onward connections. Schedules change by season, so confirm flight times with the airline before travelling.
