Wapekeka Airport guide

Angling Lake/Wapekeka Airport serves Wapekeka First Nation, a remote fly-in community in northern Ontario. The field sits on the south shore of Weir Lake, east of Big Trout Lake, about 2.8 km west of the settlement. A gravel road joins the airport to the community.

The Government of Ontario operates the airport. It has one gravel runway, 12/30, about 1,100 m (3,609 ft) long, at an elevation of 713 ft. Published instrument approaches support operations in poor weather.

No year-round road reaches the wider provincial network. Scheduled and charter flights link the community with Sioux Lookout, the regional hub, and with other First Nations in the area. Passenger and movement statistics are not published.
