Fort Frances Municipal Airport guide

Fort Frances Municipal Airport (ICAO CYAG) is a public aerodrome in northwestern Ontario, just outside the town of Fort Frances on the Rainy River. The Rainy River forms the border with Minnesota here, so the field also sits close to International Falls in the United States. The Town of Fort Frances owns and operates the airport.

The airport has one asphalt runway, 12/30, which measures 4,493 by 100 feet. Both ends carry runway identifier lights and PAPI glide slope indicators. Field elevation is 1,123 feet above sea level. The Town supplies aviation fuel and publishes the radio frequencies pilots use at the field.

Bearskin Airlines flew scheduled passenger service from Fort Frances to Winnipeg and Thunder Bay until it ended domestic service here on May 11, 2024. The Town and the neighbouring community of Dryden then worked with an aviation consultant and issued a call for expressions of interest from replacement carriers. Travellers should confirm current scheduled service with the airport before planning a trip. Charter and private flights continue to use the field.
