Bearskin Lake Airport guide

Bearskin Lake Airport (Transport Canada identifier CNE3) serves Bearskin Lake First Nation, a fly-in community in northwestern Ontario about 425 km north of Sioux Lookout. The airfield lies 5.6 km northwest of the community and sits at an elevation of 800 ft.

The airport has a single gravel runway, 07/25, 1,068 m (3,503 ft) long. It publishes no passenger statistics and has no customs or immigration service.

The community is reachable only by air or by a seasonal winter road, so the airstrip carries its passengers, mail and freight. Bearskin Airlines, North Star Air and Perimeter Aviation fly to Sioux Lookout, the regional hub for connections south. Wasaya Airways links the community with Big Trout Lake. Passengers should carry the identification their airline requires for remote northern flights, and baggage allowances on small aircraft are often tighter than on mainline routes. Schedules change by season, so confirm flight times with the airline before travelling.
