Coral Harbour Airport guide

Coral Harbour Airport (ICAO CYZS) serves the hamlet of Coral Harbour on Southampton Island, in Nunavut's Kivalliq Region at the northern end of Hudson Bay. The island has no road link to the mainland, so the airport is the community's main year-round connection for passengers, mail and freight.

The airfield sits about 11 km northwest of the hamlet at an elevation of 204 feet. The coordinates are 64°11′ N, 83°21′ W, and local time follows Eastern Time (UTC−5). It has one gravel runway, 16/34, measuring 5,006 feet (1,526 m) by 100 feet (30 m). The runway is long enough for turboprop airliners and cargo aircraft. The Government of Nunavut operates the airport, and it has no website of its own.

Calm Air provides scheduled service to Rankin Inlet and Naujaat. Schedules in the region change, so check the airline before you travel. The airport recorded 2,319 aircraft movements in 2010, according to Statistics Canada figures. Passenger numbers are not published for this airport.
