Greater Moncton Roméo LeBlanc International Airport guide

The airport sits in Dieppe, New Brunswick, about 7 km east-northeast of downtown Moncton, on a 760-hectare site at 71 m elevation. It is the main commercial airport for southeastern New Brunswick.

Air service in the Moncton area began in January 1928 with a mail and passenger flight to the Magdalen Islands from Léger's Corner. In 1936 the site at Lakeburn was chosen as the new airport location. A hangar being converted into an air terminal burned in 1952, and a new terminal was partly built in 1953. The current international terminal was built between July 2001 and the fall of 2002 and was opened by Queen Elizabeth II on October 19, 2002, when the airport gained international status. The airport took its present name in 2016 to honour Roméo LeBlanc, the Acadian Governor General of Canada. On September 11, 2001, a dozen diverted flights carrying more than 2,000 passengers landed here.

Two asphalt runways serve the field: 06/24 at 3,048 m and 11/29 at 2,438 m. The long main runway handles large jets. Moncton Flight College, a large flight school in Canada, is based on the airfield, and cargo carriers Cargojet and FedEx Express operate here. Passenger traffic was 656,246 in 2025, down 0.8% from 2024.
