Abbotsford International Airport guide

Abbotsford International Airport (IATA: YXX, ICAO: CYXX) sits 4 km southwest of the centre of Abbotsford, British Columbia, close to Highway 1 and the Canada-United States border. It is the second-largest airport in the Lower Mainland after Vancouver International and lies about 65 km from downtown Vancouver.

The Royal Canadian Air Force bought the land in 1940 and the original runways were finished in 1943. The City of Abbotsford took ownership from the federal Department of Transport on 1 January 1997. Two asphalt runways serve the field: 07/25 at 9,597 ft (2,925 m) and 01/19 at 5,328 ft (1,624 m). A Category I instrument landing system, on-site aircraft rescue and firefighting, customs and passenger screening are all in place, and the airport is an airport of entry.

Passenger traffic reached 1,275,484 in 2023, then 1,000,839 in 2024 and 1,025,655 in 2025. WestJet and Flair Airlines operate scheduled flights, mainly to Calgary, Edmonton and Toronto, with seasonal service to Puerto Vallarta. The terminal opens daily from 3:00 am to 1:00 am. Cargo carriers UPS Airlines and SkyLink Express also use the airport.
