Powell River Airport guide

Powell River Airport (ICAO: CYPW) is a public airport owned and operated by the City of Powell River on the Sunshine Coast of British Columbia. The terminal is at 7516 Duncan Street.

The airport has a single asphalt runway, 09/27, listed at 3,769 ft (1,149 m). The runway was rehabilitated in 2024, with electrical upgrades, as part of the city's 2020-2045 Airport Master Plan. The work was funded through Transport Canada's Airports Capital Assistance Program. The runway was closed from April 8 to June 9, 2024, and Pacific Coastal Airlines suspended its passenger and cargo service for that period.

Pacific Coastal Airlines is the only passenger carrier, with flights of about 30 minutes to Vancouver International Airport's South Terminal. The terminal is open in line with the airline's flight schedule, giving access from two hours before departure until one hour after arrival.

Oceanview Helicopters and the BC Wildfire Service are tenants at the airport. The City's airport page lists Budget Car Rental, Powell River Taxi and Lund Water Taxi as ground transport contacts, and links to BC Ferries and the Sunshine Coast Connector.
