Calgary International Airport sits 17 kilometres northeast of downtown Calgary, Alberta, serving as the primary gateway to the Canadian Rockies and the province's petroleum industry. The airport handled 18.9 million passengers in 2024 — a record at the time — and ranks as the fourth-busiest in Canada. It operates three runways, including a 4,267-metre strip that is Canada's longest.
