Bonnyville Airport guide

Bonnyville Airport sits about 3 km north of the Town of Bonnyville in northeastern Alberta. Its ICAO identifier is CYBF. The airport serves general aviation, charter and private flying for the Bonnyville and Cold Lake region. No scheduled airline service operates here.

The field has one asphalt runway, 08/26, about 1,350 m (4,434 ft) long and 23 m (75 ft) wide. Runway 08 has a 513 ft displaced threshold. Precision approach path indicators serve both ends. Elevation is 561 m (1,839 ft).

The airfield sells 100LL and Jet A (with FSII available) on a self-serve basis by Visa or Mastercard, and Bonnyville Air Services (1980) Ltd. is the fuel provider. A telephone is available on the aerodrome, and an automated weather station reports conditions. Food, taxis, medical aid, accommodation and car rental are within 5 nautical miles.

The Municipal District of Bonnyville No. 87 owns and operates the airport. It took over operations in late 2020 and has since tendered the design and construction of a new terminal building. The nearest larger airfield is CFB Cold Lake (CYOD), about 32 km to the northeast in a straight line. Lloydminster Airport is about 119 km to the southeast.
