Deadman's Cay Airport guide

Deadman's Cay Airport (ICAO: MYLD) is the public airfield on Long Island in the central Bahamas. It stands at an elevation of 9 feet above sea level in the settlement of Deadman's Cay and serves Clarence Town, the island's capital, and the south of the island.

The airport has one asphalt runway, designated 09/27, about 1,219 metres long and 30 metres wide. Bahamasair has flown the Long Island service to Nassau and San Salvador, and Southern Air Charter has linked the airport with Nassau and Stella Maris.

A major rebuild is under way. In November 2025 the government signed a $10.9 million contract with Presur Construction Limited for a 10,000 square foot terminal with separate international and domestic areas, four airline counters and a 115-seat departure lounge, set on raised ground with improved drainage. The runway is to be extended to 6,500 feet and raised two feet, so aircraft as large as the Boeing 737 can land year-round. The last Bahamasair flight into Deadman's Cay was on 18 January 2026, and Long Island flights have since operated through Stella Maris Airport until further notice.
