Julia Creek Airport (ICAO YJLC) is the only airport in McKinlay Shire, in north-west Queensland. It sits about 3 km from the centre of Julia Creek, at 123 m above sea level. The Civil Aviation Safety Authority certified the aerodrome in June 2008, and a new terminal building opened in March 2012.

The airport has one runway, 10/28, which is 1,402 m long. It was resurfaced, resealed and redrained in a $2.29 million project reopened in 2018, after ponding left the old pavement unsafe in wet weather. McKinlay Shire Council owns and runs the aerodrome and welcomes private aircraft.

Rex flies the scheduled service on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The morning flight runs from Townsville through Hughenden and Richmond to Julia Creek, then on to Mount Isa, and the afternoon flight returns the same way. AvGas is sold at the airport, while the Jet A1 bowser has been out of order. Tickets are booked through rex.com.au.
