Lake Evella Airport (IATA: LEL, ICAO: YLEV) is the airstrip for Gapuwiyak, a Yolngu community in north-east Arnhem Land, Northern Territory. The community sits beside Lake Evella, about 115 km west of Nhulunbuy.
The airport has a single sealed runway, 08/26, about 1,065 m long. The strip was sealed in 2004. Runway lighting is for emergency use only, so flights operate in daylight. There is no overnight aircraft parking.
The road to Nhulunbuy is roughly 220 km of mostly gravel track and is passable only at certain times of the year, which makes the airstrip the main year-round link. Fly Tiwi connects to Darwin. Marthakal Yolngu Airline and Mission Aviation Fellowship fly to Gove. The airport has no taxis, rental cars or public transport, so ground transport is arranged in advance with a local contact.
